The average temperature in October is 39 degrees. That said, you’ll want to pack light and strategically since we are staying in a different hotel each night.
At a minimum bring the following items in addition to your normal clothing:
Layers - Long sleeve shirts and pants (fleece lined leggings or thermal underwear) to go under jeans
Activewear - Fleece or wool sweaters, hiking pants (wind / rain resistant)
Outerwear - Ski or Down Jackets (that are ideally wind / rain resistant), and a poncho (it can be cheap and thin but you are guaranteed to get wet at the waterfalls without one)
Footwear - Hiking boots or shoes - the bottom of your shoes needs to be hard so we can attach crampons for ice caving
Accessories - gloves, ear muffs or hats, warm/wool socks
Swimsuit and Flip Flops
Power Adapter for Electronics - Iceland uses European outlets
I highly recommend watching the below video to help inform what you’ll want to bring to Iceland.
